I am reading a book called The Gifts of Imperfection- Let Go of Who You Think You’re Supposed to Be and Embrace Who You Are by Brene Brown, which I highly recommend. I started it awhile ago and just started reading it again. I love how the Universe brings us exactly what we need when we need it most. It is insightful, honest and very funny at times. You feel like you are listening to a wonderful girlfriend speak of common insecurities & how she has found a way to move forward imperfectly towards the goal of self acceptance. I think you’ll enJOY one of my favorite quotes that is helping me right now.
“One of the greatest barriers to connection is the cultural importance we place on “going it alone.” Somehow we’ve come to equate success with not needing anyone. Many of us are willing to extend a helping hand, but we’re very reluctant to reach out for help when we need it ourselves. It’s as if we’ve divided the world into “those who offer help” and “those who need help.” The truth is that we are both.”
As I begin this new website & newsletter journey it has allowed me to re-examine Angelights, where we are headed and how I can be of the best service to all of you while balancing my personal growth and needs as well. I feel so comfortable sharing my vulnerability, experiences, struggles, strength and hope though these monthly connections. I want to thank you for being loving listeners and sharing your hearts with me along our journey together.
Some of you are new friends and many have been part of the Angelights family for years. For the new friends, we welcome you and as it says on the home page….Angelights is a place of Peace, Healing and Acceptance. We already love you…just as you are.
As I let go of trying to get this newsletter & website edits just right & go on my yearly Eye Mission tomorrow. I encourage you to join me and spend this month releasing those old patterns of seeking perfection, hiding our vulnerabilities and denying our needs. We can prepare for the birth of Spring time & Easter by letting down are guard and asking for the help we need. Others love us more when we are honest and real than when we are trying to be perfect and super human.
Please keep all the wonderful patients we will serve, their families & all the volunteers in your prayers next week. You continue to be in mine as well.
love, love, love you,
Jackie Eaton
