As many of you know, I love sunshine & warm weather. Sometimes it is a struggle to feel positive and energized in the middle of winter. The snow just keeps coming in New England & can reek havoc on our plans & energy levels. Our inner hermit wants to hunker down & stay under the warm covers with a good book & say…See you in the spring! But doesn’t the air feel so much crisper outside when we do venture out? We were not meant to hibernate & staying in for prolonged periods or begrudging the weather can bring our energy even lower, making it even harder to get going or feel positive.
After spending unexpected indoor time with my hubby last weekend it was wonderful to meet a wonderful soul sister for a quick visit. The love, connection & break from being indoors was such a huge gift. When I got home I was recharged and ready to do my tasks joyfully. Here are some ideas the Angels gave me in meditation to beat the winter doldrums.
~Schedule regular time to be with love minded friends.
~Play like when you were a kid. Make snow angels, have a snowball fight or make an igloo. You’re never to old to play!
~Try a new hot drink or drive a different way to work.
~Be creative. Take up knitting, color, write a letter or poem or go to an art class.
~Take a hot bath with candles & scented bath salt.
~Put your pj’s in the dryer before putting them on so they’re toasty warm.
~Remember this season is temporary. It will be hot again before you know it.
~Dream of the spring and summer with all of your senses.
~Really see how beautiful & magical the crystal white snow is.
~Laugh by watching funny shows or movies.
Please share ways that you beat the winter blues & enJOY the adorable pup at the end of this message & Joan Eaton making a snow Angel. Both are sure to put a smile on your face. Wishing you warmth, JOY, peace & good health this winter season. If I can be of help, let me know.
